Self-reflection . . . from Scarborough Country?
Just wanted to clue people in that even Joe Scarborough, who made his reputation attacking Clinton (only decent President in the 21st Century) and now makes his living on anti-progressive yellow journalism waxes semi-apologetically about how he and his ilk had no agenda other than to stall progress. But here's the problem, it's too late for that kind of introspection. Thinking, "hey, maybe 10 years ago, I was an ass and I should have tried to make things better" may be admirable, but the right thing to do would be never to stifle progress for the sake of power in the first place.
These people, the one's who defined themselves in the negative, by not being who they hated, now run the government. They've gotten away with refusing to define themselves, refusing to do anything but react to those around them for almost 20 years, and refusing to have, let alone explain a positive plan. This might be the way to win at politics, but it leads to the ruin of the republic.
The unfortunate thing is that it looks like the Democrats, the only ones who usually have the positive plan, are taking a page from the old Gingrich playbook and declaring against party in power without creating a plan to better the country. I'm afraid that we're going to be left with two parties who each define themselves in the negative and sit in Washington seeking nothing more than personal gain and petty victories. How long before Washington becomes the new Rome, a debauched, bloated abomination filled with spite and corruption?
Is there a way to stop this and fix it, or do we have to start over?

You gotta recognize the power struggle from within, the people trying to riZe up and bring us brothers down. You can be introspectin' and retrosizin' all this jargin about people that are the enemy of our enemy. The way it is in the hood is the enemy of my enemy is still my muthafuckin' enemy and it's not that kind of party where haters become lovers, so ask ya self. Are you strappin?
Remember, you can represent the law without hammerfists.
